This collection of colourful, asymmetric objects has come to represent what Eva Shuman sees as a family of sorts. These ceramic objects weren’t intended to be anthropomorphic, but as they came to be and were placed next to one another on her maker’s bench, they made up a collective of individuals that complemented one another with their bright hues and playful forms. Each of Shuman’s pieces are instilled with an idiosyncratic sense of character, some are very different, some share similarities - be it their size, glaze or shape - and yet they form part of the same family.
